Lutheran Church of the Resurrection
The nearest Lutheran church to the Dalhousie campus is the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, located at the corner of Windsor and Allan Streets. The pastor is Rev. Kimber McNabb. The chaplain is a member of this parish and is usually there to welcome you.

Worship at Resurrection is on Sundays at 10 am. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is offered weekly, and everyone is invited who for any reason wants to participate. There is a coffee hour after the morning service where students mingle. If you need directions or a drive, give the chaplain a call. Enter by the door on Allan Street. There are Wednesday evening services during the season of Lent.

Dress at Resurrection is casual, and the service is informal in style although traditional Lutheran worship forms and hymns are used. All age groups are represented in the congregation, with a range of ethicities, and there is a lively group of children who are present in worship. A number of professors attend this church.

The congregation collects food for the city food bank, and twice a year Lutheran Campus Ministry hosts garage sales when the profits are equally shared with homeless youth and homeless adults projects in the city. There are occasions of fellowship throughout the year, especially at Christmas, Valentine’s, and Easter. Students are welcome in this church, and they are welcome to participate in the ongoing life of the church. Some students have become lectors, members of the choir, members of the church council, lay preachers, or in other activities that match their individual talents and time.
